Seoul Central Mosque

Seoul Central Mosque is a house of prayer in Hannam-dong built with classical Islamic design featuring a prominent dome and minarets on its white facade. Geometric patterns cover the walls and floors throughout the interior, while the main prayer hall occupies the building's central space.

The mosque opened in 1976 as the first permanent house of prayer for Muslims in South Korea. Its establishment marked a turning point in the country's religious landscape and growing recognition of Islam.

The mosque serves as a gathering place where the Muslim community comes together for prayer and religious learning. It welcomes visitors from different backgrounds and traditions, creating a space for interfaith understanding.

Visitors should remove their shoes before entering the prayer hall and dress respectfully. Headscarves are available at the entrance for those who need them.
