Labské pískovce Protected Landscape Area

The Elbe Sandstone Mountains contain sandstone formations, deep valleys, and dense forests spread across 324 square kilometers along the Elbe River.

The protected landscape area established in 1972 preserves geological formations created by an ancient sea during the Late Cretaceous period millions of years ago.
