Beverly Hills 9/11 Memorial Garden, Memorial garden at Fire Department grounds in Beverly Hills, United States.
The Beverly Hills 9/11 Memorial Garden is a tribute space at the fire department facility featuring a curved steel beam from the World Trade Center wreckage. Curved granite benches are positioned throughout the area for quiet reflection and remembrance.
This memorial opened in 2011 as a remembrance marking the decade since the attacks occurred. The steel beam was procured a few years earlier through the initiative of Beverly Hills Fire Chief Timothy J. Scranton.
The garden is organized into three distinct areas, each honoring one of the attack sites with steel plaques displaying victims' names. Visitors come to pay respects and reflect on the lives lost across these locations.
This site is located on fire department grounds and is open to visitors during daylight hours throughout the week. You can find it easily by the street address at the intersection of two main avenues in the neighborhood.
The central steel beam itself weighs nearly 1,900 pounds and serves as the heart of the entire garden space. This massive fragment from the ruins creates a powerful and immediate impression when you first enter the grounds.
