Kendall Katwalk

Kendall Katwalk is a mountain hiking trail that crosses high alpine terrain with dramatic views. The path runs along narrow ridges and contours carved into steep rock faces, giving walkers a sense of walking on the mountainside itself.

The trail began as a section of the Cascade Crest Trail before becoming part of the larger Pacific Crest Trail network. This connection linked it to a long-distance hiking route that extends across multiple western states.

Local hiking communities gather annually during late summer months to experience the trail's seasonal offerings, including wild blueberry picking and wildflower observation.

Hikers need to arrange parking at the trailhead before arriving, as spaces fill up during busy seasons. The best time to visit is mid-summer through early fall, when the high elevation sections are clear of snow and the path is most passable.

The path crosses multiple streams and passes through areas where fallen trees create natural obstacles along the ridge. These features add an element of scrambling and problem-solving to what would otherwise be a straightforward ridge walk.
