Overcoat Peak, Mountain summit in King County, United States.
Overcoat Peak is a mountain summit in the Cascade Range that rises to 7,432 feet above sea level and features steep rock faces. The peak is known for its distinctive snow formations on the eastern side, which are visible throughout much of the year.
The peak became part of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area in 1976, which protected the natural landscapes of the central Cascade Mountains. This designation helped preserve the region from intensive development.
Local climbing communities maintain detailed records of ascents, with nineteen documented successful climbs registered through various mountaineering organizations.
To reach the summit, visitors must hike the Dutch Miller Trail and cross a natural bridge formed by a fallen cedar tree. Sturdy boots and experience with steep terrain are important for this route.
The mountain contains a distinct 45-degree snow finger that provides the primary route to reach within 100 feet of the summit during climbing expeditions.
