Alaska Mountain, Mountain summit in Kittitas County, United States.

Alaska Mountain is a summit in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness within the Cascade Range, sitting between Alaska Lake and Joe Lake. The peak stands at 5,745 feet and sits in an area of forest and open alpine meadows.

The mountain formed during the late Eocene Epoch through volcanic activity, later shaped by glaciation during the Pleistocene period. These geological forces created the steep slopes and peak shape visible today.

The Pacific Crest Trail circles the mountain, making it a known destination for hikers on long-distance journeys through the west. Walkers use this route to experience the remote landscape and wilderness conditions.

The mountain receives heavy snowfall during winter months when Pacific weather systems meet the Cascades. Visitors should prepare for cold temperatures and changeable conditions, especially at higher elevations.

Water from the mountain drains into two separate river systems: the Yakima River on the east and the Snoqualmie River on the west. This split makes the peak a natural dividing point for water flow in the region.
