Red Earth OKC, Native American cultural festival at National Cowboy Museum, Oklahoma City, United States

Red Earth OKC is a three-day festival held at the National Cowboy Museum in Oklahoma City that showcases art exhibitions, traditional performances, and workshops from Native American tribes across North America. The venue brings together thousands of artists, craftspeople, and visitors to display contemporary and traditional art forms including jewelry, pottery, and textiles.

The festival grew from a desire to share Native American art forms with a broad audience and connect contemporary artists with their cultural heritage. Over decades it developed into one of the largest gatherings for tribal artworks and craftsmanship in the region.

Native artists display their craftsmanship through jewelry, sculpture, paintings, and textiles while sharing the stories and traditions connected to their work. The pieces shown reflect spiritual beliefs and tribal identities that remain important to communities today.

The festival runs for three days each year and features a large art market where visitors can purchase artwork directly from artists. The downtown location is easy to reach and the grounds provide numerous stations for exploring and meeting craftspeople at work.

The Liichokoshkomo outdoor space features reconstructed tribal dwellings where craftspeople work live and visitors can see traditional techniques being practiced firsthand. This area allows for personal conversations with artists about their methods and the meaning behind their work.
