Al Asafi Mosque

Al Asafi Mosque is a place of worship in the Al-Rusafa district featuring a prominent central dome surrounded by smaller domes and geometric wall patterns with decorated minarets. The structure displays traditional Islamic architectural elements throughout its design.

Construction began in the late 1990s with the aim of strengthening Iraq's Islamic identity during a period of political change. Work was halted after 2003 and the building remains incomplete to this day.
