Lebuh Aceh Mosque, 19th-century mosque in George Town, Malaysia
The mosque features a traditional Arab-style minaret with an Acehnese roof design, incorporating Malay architectural elements and ornate carvings throughout its structure.
Built in 1808 on land donated by Tengku Syed Hussain Al-Aidid, the mosque became a central point for Islamic studies and trade in early Penang.
The mosque compound contains a mausoleum with unadorned tombstones of its founder, reflecting Islamic burial traditions of the nineteenth century.
Visitors can reach the mosque by taking Rapid Penang Bus services to Pitt Street and walking through Cannon Street to Medan Cannon.
The area around the mosque received the name Second Jeddah, as it served as a gathering location for pilgrims preparing for their journey to Mecca.
