Discovery Gardens, Residential community in Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates
Discovery Gardens is a large residential community with nearly 300 buildings and more than 26,000 apartments organized into six garden sections. The development includes shops and medical facilities spread throughout its layout with green spaces connecting the different areas.
The development emerged in the early 2000s to address Dubai's growing population, particularly near the Jebel Ali industrial area. This project was part of a larger urban expansion to provide housing for the rapid growth the city was experiencing.
The six garden sections each display a distinct style, from modern design to traditional forms, creating different living environments with their own character for residents. Each area shapes the daily experience of people who walk through and spend time in the open spaces.
A metro station serves the area for quick connections to central Dubai, and major roads provide convenient access from different directions. The community is walkable with shops and services scattered throughout for daily needs.
More than one third of the total area is made up of open green spaces, making it unusually green for such a densely built residential complex in Dubai. These generous open areas provide a different feel compared to other urban developments in the city.
