Fujairah Heritage Village

Fujairah Heritage Village is a settlement made from mud and stone with round watchtowers positioned along its perimeter walls. The structures demonstrate how people in this region historically lived and built, with multiple buildings that preserve traditional construction methods.

The village documents the Al Yazrah irrigation method, where oxen were used to water crops before modern agricultural practices developed. These methods were essential to farming and survival in this arid region for centuries.

Artisans demonstrate traditional techniques like pottery, metalwork, and weaving that have been passed down through generations. These skills shape daily life in the village and can be observed firsthand while exploring.

Visitors should arrive early to catch the artisan demonstrations, which occur mainly during morning and early afternoon hours. The grounds are easy to explore on foot and offer shade under some traditional structures during the hottest parts of the day.

Visitors are welcomed with traditional Arabic coffee flavored with cardamom and served with dates, reflecting local hospitality customs. Reconstructed houses display historical farming tools and household items that show how daily work was performed in earlier times.
