Al Bithnah Fort

Al Bithnah Fort stands rectangular with two round corner towers positioned strategically on a terrace overlooking Wadi Ham and local trade routes.

Built in 1735 following regional conflicts, the fort became central to Sheikh Hammad Bin Abdullah Al Sharqi's declaration of Fujairah's independence in 1884.

The fortress represents traditional Arab military architecture through its construction methods using local materials such as date palms, boulders, and mud mortars.

Located 13.5 kilometers northwest of Fujairah city, the fort remains open to visitors without entry fees, with a caretaker present to provide information.

A freshwater fountain outside the fort draws water directly from the wadi, maintaining a connection to the historical water supply system.
