Jowzjan Province

Jowzjan is a northern province of Afghanistan with diverse landscape features ranging from mountains to plains across its territory. The region is connected by the highway between Mazar-e-Sharif and Sheberghan, which links multiple districts throughout the area.

The province originates from the medieval principality of Juzjan and came under the rule of the Khanate of Bukhara from the 16th century through the mid-1700s. This extended period of control shaped the region's development and governance structures.
