Holy Mother of God Church, Armenian Apostolic Church in Malatia district, Yerevan, Armenia.

The Holy Mother of God Church is an Armenian Apostolic church in the New Malatia district of Yerevan, at Sebastia 34. Designed by architect Hrachya Gasparyan, it resembles the main church of historical Melitene. Its walls incorporate soil brought from Malatya in Lesser Armenia.

Construction began in 1991, during the tenure of Catholicos Vazgen I, on the initiative of Vahan Zatikyan, then head of the New Malatia district. The church was consecrated and has operated since 1998. It was dedicated to the heroes fallen in the Artsakh war and to the memory of the Armenians of Malatya who perished in 1915.

The church is named after the Holy Mother of God and belongs to the Armenian Apostolic Church in the Malatia-Sebastia district. It was built to resemble the main church of historical Melitene (Malatia), the city in Lesser Armenia from which settlers came to found New Malatia in 1927. Soil brought from Malatia was mixed into the mortar of its walls.

The church holds regular religious services and hosts educational programs for the community throughout the year. Visitors should check service times in advance and dress respectfully when entering the building.
