Անդրանիկ Օզանյանի հուշարձան, Monument in Vahan Zatikyan Park, Yerevan, Armenia
The Andranik Ozanyan monument is a seven-meter tall basalt structure depicting the standing figure of the general, located within the park grounds. Sculptor Rafik Sargsyan and architect Ashot Smbatyan created this work together.
The monument was dedicated on February 25, 1999, marking the birth anniversary of General Andranik, a key military leader in the Armenian national liberation movement. It became the first of two memorials established for him in the city.
The monument honors General Andranik and reflects how Armenians remember their military leaders through public memorials. Visitors find themselves in a space dedicated to national pride and historical awareness.
The park is easily accessible during daylight hours with multiple paths leading to the monument. Visitors can find seating and green areas throughout the grounds.
The monument was among the first large basalt memorials built in Yerevan after independence. Its artistic form combines traditional Armenian stoneworking with modern sculptural design.
