Անդրանիկ Օզանյանի հուշարձան, Monument in Vahan Zatikyan Park, Yerevan, Armenia

The Andranik Ozanyan monument is a seven-meter tall basalt structure depicting the standing figure of the general, located within the park grounds. Sculptor Rafik Sargsyan and architect Ashot Smbatyan created this work together.

The monument was dedicated on February 25, 1999, marking the birth anniversary of General Andranik, a key military leader in the Armenian national liberation movement. It became the first of two memorials established for him in the city.

The monument stands in Vahan Zatikyan Park in the Malatia-Sebastia district, unveiled on 25 February 1999, the general's birthday. It was the first monument to Andranik in Yerevan; a second followed in 2002 near Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral. Other memorials to him exist in Ujan, Voskepar, Navur, Gyumri, Arteni, Angeghakot and in Bulgaria.

The monument stands in Vahan Zatikyan Park in the Malatia-Sebastia district, in the western part of Yerevan. The basalt figure rises seven meters, so it can be picked out from a distance when orienting yourself in the park. Approach on foot through the park paths; the surrounding grounds are open and level.

The monument was among the first large basalt memorials built in Yerevan after independence. Its artistic form combines traditional Armenian stoneworking with modern sculptural design.
