Luanda Province

Luanda Province extends over 18,835 square kilometers along the Atlantic coast, containing nine municipalities including the national capital city of Luanda.

The province underwent major territorial changes in 2011 when the municipalities of Icolo e Bengo and Quiçama from Bengo Province were incorporated into its boundaries.

The population of over 9 million residents in Luanda Province includes many members of the Ambundu ethnic group who maintain traditional customs and practices.

The Instituto de Planeamento e Gestão Urbana de Luanda manages urban development across the province's municipalities, focusing on infrastructure and residential planning.

The province contains both dense urban settlements and protected natural areas, including the Quiçama National Park with its diverse wildlife populations.
