The Cerro Benítez mountain rises prominently in the Patagonian landscape, featuring steep walls of conglomerate rock formations and numerous climbing routes.
The mountain contains deep-water foreland basin deposits from the Cerro Toro Formation, providing evidence of ancient geological processes between Laurentia and Gondwana.
The southern flank of Cerro Benítez houses the Cueva del Milodón Natural Monument, connecting the mountain to prehistoric human habitation in Patagonia.
