Patagonia National Park

The park encompasses 752,502 acres of mountains, forests, lagoons, and lakes, featuring valleys formed by the Chacabuco River between snow-capped peaks.

The Chacabuco Valley within the park served as a corridor for nomadic peoples across centuries before becoming cattle ranches in modern times.

Over 100 archaeological sites in the Chacabuco Valley contain traces of the Aonikenk people, who developed advanced hunting techniques in this region.

Visitors can access multiple trails, camping areas, lodging facilities, and information centers through daily public transportation services from the city of Coyhaique.

The park protects ten percent of the remaining Huemul deer population and contains dry Coirón grasslands that transform into red-colored Lenga forests in autumn.
