Las Cascadas

Las Cascadas is a village at the foot of Osorno Volcano on the eastern shore of Lake Llanquihue, surrounded by native forests and mountain views. A waterfall of about 50 meters is accessible via a hiking trail of roughly 30 minutes along the Blanco River.

The community was established in the 19th century by German settlers who shaped the growth of Puerto Octay and the surrounding Lake District. This period of settlement left a lasting mark on how the area developed and was organized.

Entry is free and parking is available near the trailhead for easy access. The path to the waterfall is well-used and clearly marked, making navigation straightforward for visitors.

The area works as an entry point to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, providing direct access to the La Picada sector via Puerto Klocker. This location makes it a convenient starting place for visitors interested in exploring the larger park landscape.
