Los Lagos, Chilean city and commune
Los Lagos is a city in Valdivia Province in southern Chile, situated about 100 feet (30 meters) above sea level. The San Pedro River flows through the area, and the town contains a mix of traditional houses and newer buildings spread across the landscape.
The city was founded in 1891 under the name Quinchilca before becoming Los Lagos. German settlers arrived in the region and left lasting influences on the town's development and character.
