Laja Falls

The Laja Falls consist of four horseshoe-shaped cascades, with the eastern fall reaching 35 meters and western falls extending 20 meters in height.

In 1756, Spanish governor Manuel de Amat y Juniet first documented the falls during a meeting with Mapuche and Pehuenche tribes in this territory.

The falls served as a sacred gathering place where Mapuche elders conducted meditation rituals while young men performed crossing ceremonies as strength tests.

Visitors can reach the falls by taking a detour from Route 5 onto a concrete bridge that provides direct access to viewing platforms.

The four distinct waterfalls create a natural rainbow effect through their constant spray, visible from the observation bridge throughout the year.
