Plaza de Armas de Los Ángeles

Plaza de Armas de Los Ángeles is a central square featuring a circular fountain at its center, surrounded by seven bridges and decorated with female statues and an equestrian monument. Key civic buildings including the Provincial Government Office, City Hall, and the Cathedral of Santa María de los Ángeles frame its perimeter.

The plaza underwent major renovation at the start of the 21st century, during which most trees were removed and new paving stones were installed at the four entrances. This transformation reshaped its appearance and gave it its current character.

The plaza serves as the main gathering place where locals meet for celebrations, markets, and everyday social occasions throughout the year. This constant activity makes it the living heart of the city.

The plaza is easily accessible and centrally located with clear pathways and open spaces for exploration. The area provides plenty of room for walking and spending time, particularly on weekends and during local events.

The Club de la Unión building, built in 1931, houses the only decorative frieze in the entire city. This artwork demonstrates the architectural importance of this historic building at the plaza's edge.
