O'Higgins Park, Urban park in Santiago, Chile
O'Higgins Park spans 75 hectares with green spaces, walking paths, artificial lakes, and recreational facilities in the central area of Santiago commune.
The park, inaugurated in 1873 as Parque Cousiño, was developed by French landscaper Guillermo Renner on land purchased by the government in 1845.
During the national holiday of September 18, the park transforms into a center for traditional fondas where Chileans gather to celebrate independence.
Two Metro stations on Line 2, Parque O'Higgins and Rondizzoni, provide direct access to the park from different points of Santiago.
The park contains Fantasilandia, Chile's largest amusement park, featuring roller coasters and attractions with separate admission fees.
