San Miguel

San Miguel extends over 10.72 square kilometers between Lima's center and Callao, featuring residential neighborhoods along the Pacific Ocean coastline.

The territory transformed from indigenous settlements into an entertainment district during the early 20th century, with notable development between 1920 and 1960.

The Parque de las Leyendas houses both Lima's central zoo and the Archaeological Complex of Maranga, preserving structures from pre-Hispanic civilizations.

The district connects to central Lima through multiple bus routes along Avenida La Marina, where Plaza San Miguel serves as the main commercial center.

The area maintains 53 archaeological sites within its boundaries, including pyramids and water canals constructed by the Lima culture between 100 and 600 AD.
