Residencial San Felipe, Lima

Residencial San Felipe is a large residential neighborhood with 33 buildings of varying heights spread across 27 hectares. The structures are arranged to connect homes with parks and shared plazas throughout the complex.

The project began in 1962 under President Fernando Belaúnde Terry to house Lima's rapidly growing population. It was part of a larger plan to create affordable, well-designed homes for the city's expanding middle class.

The neighborhood reflects how Lima's middle class envisioned urban living in the 1960s, blending modern design with local building traditions. You can still see this mix today in the buildings and shared spaces where residents gather.

The area is well connected by public transportation and sits near Lima's main roads for easy access. When walking through, you will find multiple pathways connecting the parks and passing between buildings.

Three different architecture firms contributed to the design, creating a neighborhood with varied building styles throughout. The elevated walkways and civic centers particularly show how these different ideas worked together.
