Estadio Universidad San Marcos

Estadio Universidad San Marcos is a sports facility with a grass pitch and athletics track located in downtown Lima. The venue holds around 32,000 spectators and is used mainly for football and track-and-field events.

The stadium opened in 1951 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the university. Construction revealed ancient pre-Columbian walls that were preserved beneath the modern structure.

The stadium carries the name of Peru's oldest university and reflects its importance to the capital. Visitors can directly sense the strong connection between academic institution and local sports culture.
