Ticlla, Mountain summit in Yauyos Province, Peru.

Ticlla rises to 5,897 meters above sea level in the Lima Region, featuring steep slopes and permanent snow cover at its uppermost sections.

The mountain received its first documented climbing expedition in 1963, when mountaineers reached the summit through the western approach route.

Local indigenous communities refer to the mountain as Qutuni, derived from Aymara language meaning 'the one with a heap' in their traditional naming system.

Access to Ticlla requires advanced climbing skills, proper acclimatization, and coordination with local authorities due to its location within protected natural areas.

The peak stands as the highest point among 2,424 mountains in the Lima region with a prominence of 3,907 meters from base to summit.
