Vichayito, Ortschaft in Peru

Vichayito is a beach locality in Los Organos district, located between Los Organos town to the south and Pocitas beach in Mancora to the north. The coastline has no rocks, features calm waters suitable for swimming, and is lined with simple guesthouses, bungalows, and dining options that have grown over time.

The place developed as part of settlement growth along northern Peru's coast, sustained by traditional fishing and later by increasing tourism. Recent decades have seen accelerated building of homes and accommodations, transforming what was once a fishing village into a modern beach destination.

The name Vichayito connects to the local heritage of the northern Peruvian coast. The place has become a gathering point for those seeking a slower pace of life, where fishing traditions and simple hospitality define the daily rhythm of the community.

Access to Vichayito is from Pocitas in Mancora or via the old North Pan-American Highway, marked by green signs at the entrance. The best season for water sports like kitesurfing runs from April through November, when wind conditions become stronger and more suitable.

Underwater diving sites called bajos exist here, particularly one known as Bajería Peña Mala, which draws divers seeking hidden marine landscapes. These submerged spots offer exploration opportunities that many visitors overlook while focusing only on surface beach activities.
