Sucre National Theater

The Sucre National Theater is a theatre building in Quito featuring neoclassical architecture with arched entrances, columns, and a white facade. Inside, a restaurant on the second floor serves Mediterranean dishes to visitors before and after performances.

Construction began in 1877 on the site of a former market and was completed in 1922. The building survived an arson attempt and later underwent major restoration after closing for a period.

The theatre hosts operas, ballets, and concerts featuring both local and international performers who bring their work to this stage. These productions have shaped the city's cultural life for generations and continue to draw audiences.
