Villa Victoria, Cultural center in Los Troncos neighborhood, Mar del Plata, Argentina.

Villa Victoria is a wooden mansion in Mar del Plata that stretches across an entire city block with surrounding gardens and open spaces. The building was manufactured in England and shipped to Argentina in sections, then assembled on site during the early 1900s.

Manuel Ocampo purchased the building from British manufacturer Boulton & Paul Ltd, a company known for prefabricated wooden structures, and had it transported to Argentina. His daughter Victoria later inherited it and began hosting gatherings of writers and intellectuals from the 1920s onward.

Victoria Ocampo opened this summer house to writers, artists, and musicians from around the world who stayed and worked here. The rooms reflect how she created a space where creative minds gathered and influenced each other's work.

The building is open for guided tours that show the interior spaces and explain the house's history and architecture. The venue also hosts rotating exhibitions, performances, and cultural events throughout the year.

The building combines iron fittings with wooden framework, representing a rare example of British prefabrication technology brought to South America. This method allowed the entire structure to be built on one continent and reassembled thousands of kilometers away.
