Cerro de las Ánimas

Cerro de las Ánimas is a mountain summit in Maldonado Department that reaches approximately 501 meters above sea level. It stands within the Cuchilla Grande range and represents one of the country's highest elevations.

The peak was originally called Mirador Nacional before receiving its current name Cerro de las Ánimas, meaning Hill of Souls, during the early development of the region. This name change reflects the area's cultural evolution over time.
