Arena Condá, soccer stadium in Brazil
Arena Condá is a football stadium in Chapecó that holds about 22,000 spectators with modern facilities and covered stands for protection from weather. Located on Rua Clevelândia in the city center, it features different seating sections arranged around the field to give fans good views of the game.
The stadium opened in early 2009 and hosted its first match in the Campeonato Catarinense, which the home team won 4-1 against Brusque. Player Nenén scored the first goal ever at this venue.
The stadium takes its name from the Kaingang people who inhabited this region long ago. The name honors their legacy, with "Condá" referring to a great chief in their language, and visitors can see this indigenous heritage reflected in the local identity.
The stadium is easy to reach on foot from the city center and is located at the corner of Rua Clevelândia and Índio Condá street. The best time to visit is on match days when crowds gather and local vendors sell refreshments and snacks.
Next to the stadium stands the Davi Barella Lounge, a memorial space dedicated to the victims of a tragic airplane accident in November 2016 that involved the local team and its delegation. This space shows how the community has woven together grief and resilience.
