El Palmar Integrated Management Natural Area

El Palmar extends across 59,484 hectares of land, featuring mountainous terrain, deep canyons, and diverse ecosystems within the Jaime Zudáñez Province.

The Bolivian government established El Palmar Integrated Management Natural Area through Supreme Decree 24623 on May 20, 1997, to safeguard natural resources.

Local communities participate in conservation initiatives and sustainable resource management programs that integrate traditional practices with environmental protection methods.

Visitors can explore the area through guided tours, hiking trails, and educational programs while observing native plant species and wildlife in their natural habitat.

The protected area contains Parajubaea torallyi palm trees growing at elevations between 2,400 and 3,200 meters above sea level in wetlands and ravines.
