Coxim

Coxim is a municipality in central-western Brazil situated where the Coxim River meets the Taquari River. The area encompasses different landscapes and offers access to both waterways that shape the local settlement pattern.

The municipality was founded in 1729 when early settlers arrived in the region. This founding marked the beginning of European settlement in southern Mato Grosso.
