Encontro das Águas State Park

The park extends across 108,960 hectares between Poconé and Barão de Melgaço municipalities, featuring a network of rivers and diverse wetland ecosystems.

The state government of Mato Grosso established this conservation area through decree 4,881 on December 22, 2004, to protect the local pantanal region.

Local fishing communities along the rivers maintain traditional practices while adapting to conservation regulations that restrict fishing within two kilometers of park boundaries.

Access to the park requires boat transportation, with guided tours departing from nearby towns to observe wildlife, particularly the resident jaguar population.

The park contains multiple river confluences, including the meeting points of the Caçanje, Cuiabá, Alegre, and São Lourenço rivers within its protected boundaries.
