Cidade das Artes is a contemporary concrete complex in Barra da Tijuca that houses multiple performance halls and event spaces. The building stands on pillars that elevate the structure, while its layout includes several specialized halls designed to accommodate different types of artistic presentations.

The architect Christian de Portzamparc from France designed this structure, which opened to the public in early 2013. Its completion represented a turning point for cultural infrastructure in the western part of the city.

This center serves as a gathering place for musical performances, dance shows, and artistic events that bring the community together. Different halls accommodate various art forms and allow both large productions and intimate performances to take place.

The venue is easily reached by car and offers parking spaces for visitors on site. Multiple bus lines serve the Barra da Tijuca area, making public transportation convenient.

The building features suspended gardens nestled between its concrete blocks, creating elevated green spaces throughout the structure. These floating gardens blend nature with architecture and offer visitors quiet moments within the complex.
