Dragão do Mar Center of Art and Culture

Dragão do Mar Center is a large arts and culture venue in downtown Fortaleza with multiple exhibition halls, performance theaters, and cinema screens. The complex also houses a planetarium and two specialized museums covering different aspects of art and local heritage.

The center opened in 1999 and is named after a maritime worker who resisted slave trafficking in the 1880s. Its creation reflected efforts to establish Fortaleza as a cultural hub and celebrate the city's artistic heritage.
