Ncora Dam, Gravity dam in Tsomo, South Africa
The Ncora Dam extends 305 meters across the Tsomo River, rising 44 meters high with a total reservoir capacity of 181 million cubic meters.
Construction company Concor completed the dam structure in 1972 as part of South Africa's infrastructure development program for water resource management.
The dam forms part of the Chris Hani District Municipality's water system, supporting agricultural communities and local farming traditions in Eastern Cape.
The reservoir provides irrigation water to surrounding farmlands through a network of channels, covering a surface area of 1,507 hectares.
The dam's catchment area spans 1,785 square kilometers, making it a central water collection point for the regional watershed system.
