The Moremi Game Reserve encompasses 4,871 square kilometers within the Okavango Delta, featuring diverse landscapes of waterways, grasslands, and forests.
Chief Moremi III's widow established the reserve in 1963 to protect wildlife from unrestricted hunting and the expansion of cattle farming.
The Batawana people made the decision to dedicate their ancestral lands between Khwai and Mogogelo rivers for wildlife conservation.
The reserve divides into three sections: North Gate near Khwai Community Trust, South Gate region, and the northwestern area around Third Bridge.
Visitors can experience both land and water safaris, observing elephants, lions, hippos, and over 400 bird species throughout the reserve.
