The Kisumu Museum spans ten acres with outdoor pavilions containing exhibits of local flora, fauna, and cultural artifacts from Western Kenya.
Established in 1980, the museum has collected and preserved artifacts documenting the migration patterns and cultural development of Western Kenyan communities.
The museum features a complete Luo homestead exhibition with traditional houses, livestock areas, and granaries illustrating the daily life of the community.
The museum charges different entrance fees ranging from 50 Kenyan shillings for resident children to 500 shillings for non-East African visitors.
The facility maintains live exhibits including venomous snakes native to Kenya and various fish species from Lake Victoria in dedicated aquariums.
