Museum Pasifika, Art museum in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia.
Museum Pasifika is an art museum in Kuta Selatan displaying over 600 artworks by around 200 artists from approximately 25 countries. The works are spread across eleven exhibition rooms and galleries, each showcasing different artistic forms and geographical regions.
The museum was founded in 2006, growing out of the earlier Asia Pacific Art Center that had been established in 2004. This transformation allowed it to develop into a larger space showcasing a more diverse collection of artworks from across the Pacific region.
The collection brings together artworks from Indonesian, Italian, Dutch, and French artists alongside pieces from Indochina, Polynesia, and other Pacific regions. Visitors see how these different artistic traditions from across the ocean connect and speak to one another.
The museum is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is easily accessible in Kuta Selatan. Set aside several hours to move through all eleven exhibition spaces and take in the full range of works at a comfortable pace.
One exhibition space is devoted entirely to Tapa art from Oceania, where traditional crafting techniques are shown through carefully selected pieces. These rare works offer a glimpse into ancient artistic skills rarely seen outside of their home regions.
