Pura Dalem Sakenan

High priest Mpu Kuturan established Pura Dalem Sakenan in the 10th century, marking a significant period in the development of Balinese Hinduism before Majapahit Kingdom's fall.

During the 210-day Piodalan festival, worshippers gather at the temple to participate in ceremonies while carrying ancient heirlooms and sacred objects.

The temple complex requires visitors to wear appropriate clothing, including sarongs, and certain areas remain restricted to devotees for religious ceremonies.

The temple's original limestone and coral walls from surrounding coastal reefs have been preserved through multiple renovations over the centuries.
