Melasti Beach, Beach and tourist attraction in Ungasan, Indonesia

Melasti Beach stretches for two kilometers along limestone cliffs with white sand and turquoise Indian Ocean waters. The shoreline is framed by towering rock formations that give the place its distinctive structure.

A road carved through the limestone cliffs transformed this isolated shore into an accessible destination. This early infrastructure work laid the foundation for what the place has become today.

The entrance showcases traditional Balinese gates where local dancers perform Kecak shows with the ocean as a backdrop. These performances have become a regular part of the visitor experience here.

Entry requires a fee, and the site offers showers, changing rooms, parking, and food options for visitors. The morning hours are best for viewing and swimming, when light and water conditions are most favorable.

Low tide reveals small natural pools near the limestone formations, creating separate water spaces along the shore. This natural phenomenon lets visitors explore in shallow, sheltered waters without venturing into open ocean.
