Bogor railway station, Railway terminal in Bogor City, Indonesia.
Bogor railway station is a railway terminal in Bogor City with eight tracks distributed across six bay platforms and two side platforms. The facility serves multiple transportation routes throughout West Java and functions as a key junction for train connections in the region.
The station was originally founded as Buitenzorg Station in 1873 as part of colonial-era railway development. A major reconstruction by Staatsspoorwegen took place in 1881 during the creation of the Bogor-Bandung railway line.
The station building blends Indische and Neoclassical design, featuring geometric patterns inspired by Classical Greek forms. This architectural language gives the place a distinctive appearance that reflects the era when it was built.
The station serves as the terminus for KRL Commuterline Red Line services connecting to Jakarta Kota and offering access to Sukabumi via the Pangrango line. Two main entrances provide access, with connections leading toward Bogor City Square.
The station sits at an elevation where it becomes a natural gathering point for commuters from different parts of the region. This geographic position makes it an important connector between lowland Jakarta and the cooler upland areas of West Java.
