Cimekar railway station, railway station in Bandung Regency, Indonesia
Cimekar railway station is a small train stop in Bandung, Indonesia, with a modern building and two main tracks for local service. The facility includes a waiting area, ticket counter with automated scanning, restrooms, and washing facilities for travelers.
The station site began in 1899 as a stop called Stopplaats Ciendog during Dutch colonial rule and served as a key point on the route from Bandung to Maos. The original location in Cibiru Hilir closed in 2023 and the station relocated to a modern new site in Gedebage.
The station sits in the middle of a residential area and is easiest to reach by motorcycle taxi if you do not have your own transport. The facility offers restrooms, a prayer room, drinking water stations, and charging ports for phones.
From the waiting area, you can see rice fields and buildings like GBLA Stadium and Masjid Al Jabbar, which visitors often use as photo backdrops. This view is unusual for a small train station in a large city.
