Balaraja, Administrative district in Tangerang, Indonesia.
Balaraja is an administrative district in Tangerang comprising nine subdivisions, including eight rural villages and one urban center. The area is traversed by major roads that connect it with surrounding regions.
The area underwent administrative restructuring in 2000 when it divided to form Jayanti district. Another division followed in 2006 that created Sukamulya district.
The name Balaraja holds traditional meaning in Indonesian, referring to either a royal resting place or the king's troops of Banten ethnicity. Local residents connect this naming to their regional heritage and identity.
The area is accessed through two main toll gates that provide direct connection to the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road. Eastern and western entry points make it easy to travel between different regions.
The area will serve as a starting point for Jakarta MRT Phase 3, establishing an extensive rail connection. This infrastructure development will significantly improve links between the northern industrial zone and the capital.
