Brahmavihara-Arama, Buddhist monastery in Banjar, Indonesia.
The Brahmavihara-Arama monastery spans across 2.5 acres of hillside terrain, featuring meditation rooms, libraries, and gardens at different elevation levels.
The monastery opened its doors in 1970 after construction began in 1969, becoming the primary Buddhist center on the Hindu-majority island of Bali.
The architecture combines Buddhist and Balinese elements, with bronze Buddha statues covered in gold that Thailand and Sri Lanka donated in 1977.
Located 20 kilometers from Singaraja and 10 kilometers from Lovina Beach, the monastery welcomes visitors daily from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM without entrance fees.
At the highest point of the complex stands a miniature reproduction of Borobudur, the ancient Buddhist temple from the 9th century in Java.
