Sambangan Secret Garden

Sambangan Secret Garden is a natural pool area in northern Bali featuring multiple waterfalls linked by jungle paths. The site contains several natural swimming areas surrounded by thick tropical vegetation and forest.

The valley served as a refuge for local inhabitants during the Dutch colonial period in the early 1900s. The thick forest provided shelter as communities sought to maintain their way of life away from colonial control.

The place reflects how local communities have long relied on water sources for daily life and farming in this region. You can sense how the waterfalls and streams have shaped both the landscape and the routines of people living nearby.

Visit early in the morning when the trails are less crowded and the forest light is softer. Wear sturdy shoes with good grip, as the paths can be slippery and the terrain is uneven throughout the site.

This location is relatively hidden, with trails that are not always clearly marked and few tourists making the journey. The remoteness creates a feeling of discovery and keeps the place quieter than other waterfall sites in Bali.
