Walls of Jerusalem National Park

The reserve encompasses numerous highland lakes, steep dolerite peaks, and ancient glacial formations within the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.

The national park received its designation in 1978 and became part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area in 1982.

Aboriginal communities maintained deep connections with this land before European settlement, using the area for traditional practices and sustenance.

The park requires visitors to access it exclusively on foot through walking tracks, starting from Lake Rowallan with mandatory parks pass requirements.

The landscape contains numerous tarns formed by glacial activity, creating small mountain lakes surrounded by endemic pencil pine forests and twisted snow gums.
