Devils@cradle, Wildlife conservation facility in Cradle Mountain, Australia.

Devils@Cradle is a sanctuary dedicated to breeding and caring for Tasmanian devils and other endangered marsupials in the mountain forests of northwest Tasmania. The facility focuses on raising young animals and maintaining healthy populations of species that face extinction in the wild.

The sanctuary was established to save Tasmanian devils when a facial tumor disease spread through wild populations starting in the early 2000s. The facility became a refuge to build up breeding stock and prevent the species from disappearing entirely.

The place demonstrates how conservation efforts connect people to native wildlife through hands-on experiences with rescued animals. Visitors witness the commitment to protecting Tasmania's most iconic and endangered marsupials through everyday care and breeding programs.

You can walk through the grounds at your own pace and observe the animals in their enclosures. Wearing appropriate footwear and layers is important since the location sits in the mountains where weather changes quickly.

The center lets visitors interact with young Tasmanian devils and watch them grow up through special encounters with trained staff. These direct experiences reveal behaviors and feeding habits you would never see in the wild.
